The important aspect of celebrating Shiva Ratri is the cosmic connection and rejuvenation of our soul through devotion, fasting and worship. The children can be seen in alleys and roads of LMC to block the passer- by with ropes to collect some money for the offerings and bonfire for the evening. Local people gather to lit-up bonfires in the streets in front of the God Shiva’s shrine of their locality to honour him on his birthday. People also enjoy nectars, steamed sugarcane, and other delicious delicacies as well.
